The G40 is always prone to problems with the cylinder head bolts, especially with significantly more powerful engines. The ARP cylinder head stud bolts provide a remedy here. The ARP stud bolts prevent the cylinder head from lifting off the G40, even with increased compression and extreme boost pressure.
The up to 30 % stronger expansion steel of ARP products can withstand higher loads and pressures. The tensile strength is approx. 1400 N/mm². For comparison: a standard 10.9 bolt only has a tensile strength of 900 N/mm². The studs / stud bolts are made of 8740 chrome-molybdenum steel. The threads are rounded.
